I sailed at Hove from 4:30 until 7:30pm with the bit from 6pm best when the rip disappeared. Before that it was the most amazing sideflow I have ever experienced. A few instances I popped over the back of a wave on the inside and stopped dead before being dragged 100 yds down the beach. It seemd to me like the water flow was worse on the inside, but even way out it was still catching your rail etc. I was well powered on my 5m so couldnt really decide if it was the big sail or the rip. Wave selection was key I think. And there was decent swell today that gave a short downwind ride. I went back upwind at 6pm and changed to a 4.5m and it was sweet. The waves seemed better when I returned, the current was gone, the board was light and floaty again. I stayed upwind of the kites after that and locked into a load of decent rides, up to head high. Not a lot breaking vert out there, but still fun and had a few right to the shingle and a handful of rapid top turns.
